New York's Annual Holiday Donation Drive Underway
Governor Hochul today announced that New York’s annual holiday donation drive to support children and families in need is underway across the state. Donations of new, unwrapped toys, school supplies, and new or gently used coats are being sought to support community-based organizations that assist New Yorkers throughout the holiday season.
“The holiday season brings out the best in New Yorkers, and our annual toy drive is back,” Governor Hochul said. “A little generosity can go a long way, and we hope New Yorkers consider donating coats, toys or school supplies to deliver some holiday cheer to their neighbors. I’m proud to continue this annual tradition and encourage everyone who can participate to help ensure children and families have what they need to enjoy the holiday season.”
New York State Office of General Services Commissioner Jeanette Moy said, “Here in New York, we look out for one another, and that commitment to our neighbors is one of our greatest strengths. Our annual holiday drive is an opportunity to put that generosity into action by making a meaningful difference in the lives of our fellow New Yorkers. Whether it’s a toy that brings a smile to a child’s face or a winter coat that helps someone stay warm, every contribution matters. I encourage everyone who can to join us in making the season a little brighter for families across our state.”
OGS has established donation drop-off locations across the state where businesses and individuals can contribute to the annual drive.
Statewide collections will run from November 2 through December 4. An extended collection period will continue through December 11 in the Capital Region, which will accept both in-person drop-offs and shipped packages.
